Connecting Fomo to Shopify is easy, and requires no coding.
Step 1 - Create a Private App
While logged into your Shopify store, visit Apps > Manage Private Apps (at the bottom).
Next, click Generate Credentials in the top-right corner.
Step 3 - Add Permissions
Create a private app named Fomo with the exact permissions shown below.
Permissions to Allow
Store content - Read
Customer details - Read
Orders, transactions - Read
Products, variants - Read
Theme templates - Read
Script Tags - Read and Write
It's important you allow "Read and Write" access for the Script Tags permission, because this lets us plant the actual notification snippet on your site.
Fomo never modifies your products, customers, or order data.
You can leave this bottom section un-checked:
Once you're done, click Save.
Step 3 - Input Credentials to Fomo
After hitting save, Shopify will generate a few API Keys and a secret password for you. See below.
Ignore everything except the Password text.
While logged into Fomo > Integrations > Shopify, paste this Password into the API Password field.
Finally, add your "XXXX.myshopify.com" domain and click "Enable Shopify."
Step 4 - You're Done!
Going forward, new Shopify orders will be imported on-demand, and shown on your website in real-time.
To change the message structure of your Fomo notifications, simply visit the Templates tab while logged into Fomo and click the 'Shopify Order' template.
